Senior SAP FI-CO Consultant

Purpose of the function:

Internal Business Application Consultant SAP FI being responsible for development, improvement, roll-out and support of group wide business application solutions along all Finance and Controlling processes.

 Description of the function:

The SAP FI consultant independently implements processes specified together with our internal customers and Business Process Owners in the Company. In addition, the consultant has to ensure proper alignment of the processes against our SAP template as well as our global standards in Accounting. Further, he/she manages new developments in collaboration with other consultants or developers. Whereas the SAP modules mainly in focus are FI and to some extent also CO, the internal business applications consultant FI has a cross-application scope concerning integrated processes with the SAP modules MM/SD/PP.

 Key Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Develop the business application architecture from a global perspective to achieve the best possible solution for the company which results in a minimum of systems and a maximum of efficiency (analysis, conceptual design, evaluation of solution alternatives, functional testing).
  • Act as a proactive business partner to the business, identifying and consulting IT and process innovations to the the company business functions.
  • Implement group strategic business application projects.
  • Use global standards to achieve simplicity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Enable and motivate the business organization to deliver a maximum of global standards.
  • Enable all entities and employees to conduct business in line with applicable laws and regulations, as well as with global and local policies and procedures and the companies code of conduct.
  • Managing support issues within a Global Service Delivery Organization as 3rd-Level.
  • Tasks in this job profile are in particular:
    • Design and re-engineering of Finance solutions aiming at optimizing business processes of the internal companies
    • Implementation of processes in SAP including customizing and documentation
    • Consulting and support of the business partners such as Global Process Owner and Key Users
    • Organization, preparation and execution of workshops with peers
    • Independent managing of tasks and work packages
    • Taking responsibility for creating agreed solutions in time and quality
    • Managing external resources

Working Experience:

SAP Business Consulting Finance (min 5 years), within a manufacturing/industry environment, mostly using ECC6.0, but S/4 HANA knowledge is valuable.

Fluent Spoken English mandatory.

Experience in international ERP rollouts (several years)

Practical Experience / good working knowledge of accounting and controlling processes and accounting standards

 

Professional skills:

  • Mandatory skills:
    • Senior Consultant in SAP FI as absolute must (AP,AR, AA, new GL, Banks…), and some experience regarding CO also mandatory
    • Holistic view of business processes across sales / logistics from the accounting/controlling perspective
  • Additional skills non mandatory, but valuable for the position:
    • Experience in one of the following SAP modules will be an advantage: SAP MM/PP/SD
    • Knowledge of FSCM Dispute, Collections, Credit management, valuable
    • ARIBA integration experience valuable
    • SAP ADM Advanced Data Migration by Syniti also considered beneficial

Leadership skills:

  • strong experience as senior consultant
  • some experience in project management valuable
  • management of external resources and developers
  • experience in presenting, moderating, guiding in process workshops
  • experience in key-user trainings
