IT Workplace Support Specialist / Local IT Manager

The company: our customer JUNGHEINRICH is a German multinational that operates all over the world for more than 65 years and is one of the leading providers of Logistics industry. More than 18,000 employees and around 4.000 M€ revenue.

They will hire the selected candidate as an internal and permanent employee, based in Madrid, but providing services to their global organization.

 

Description of the position:

To foster our growth at our research and development site in the city centre of Madrid, we are seeking a passionate IT Workplace Support Specialist to join our IT team in a permanent, full-time position.

We look for a professional who will support our employees at Madrid office with their daily IT issues as well as the consulting and the support with new hardware. Additionally, you will be part of the 2nd level support team for the digital workplace, which means that you will help all users worldwide with their problems regarding their client software, Skype/Teams or email.

 

Organizational position: Reporting to the IT Workplace Services Leader (located in Hamburg).

 

Key Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Support the users and the central units in Madrid with their IT questions / issues.
  • Staging and first configuration of new devices (e.g. laptops, mobile phones, etc).
  • Preparation of manuals regarding the correct usage of these devices for the users.
  • 2nd Level Support / processing of incidents, requests & changes in the context of user-related Digital Workplace services.
  • Responsible for the local IT infrastructure (Server room, network, meeting rooms…) following the standards and guidelines with special attention to It security.
  • Hardware lifecycle including budget planning.
  • Responsible for local IT projects, demands or escalations in close contact with the local mangement.

Working Experience:

  • More than 2 years of experience working as an IT Manager or as a Workplace 2nd level support specialist.

 

Professional skills:

Mandatory skills:

  • Broad understanding of IT (laptops, printers, mobile phones, etc.).
  • Strong experience in Windows 10, Office365 including Apps for Enterprise and Remote Desktop Services.
  • Strong experience in SCCM / Intune, Skype for Business / Teams and Exchange on premise / Exchange Online.
  • ITSM/ITIL tool (ticketing) experience.

  • You have a confident command of spoken and written English.
  • Customer-oriented, competent and service-oriented appearance.
  • Enjoyment of continuous development and learn.
  • High level of personal responsibility, self-organized.

Education and Training:

  • Degree in Business information technology, Computer Sciences or an equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft and ITIL certifications valuable, but not required.

Languages:

  • Spanish: Native language, otherwise business fluent.
  • English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills). B2 level. 

Job Conditions:

Job location: Madrid.

Expected travel: Very limited, just a 2-3 days trip once or twice a year, only during the weekdays, to the global headquarters in Hamburg (Germany) for teaming and alignment.

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, as internal employee.

Salary: Depending on experience.
