Senior Software Lead Developer (Madrid, Spain)

We are looking for a Software Development Lead to join our team building the company’s key digital products for our international market.

The Development Lead will work with Product Owners to define and design the next products & projects.

Key Responsibilities and tasks:

  • As a lead developer you develop cloud-native solutions in cross-functional teams.
  • You combine modern frontend, backend and IoT technologies to build innovative intralogistics solutions.
  • You take the technical leadership as a servant leader.
  • As a software developer you are part of the team.
  • You are a mentor for younger colleagues.
  • You advise our stakeholders as a sparring partner.
  • You define solutions and translate business requirements into technical design working with Product Owners and delivery managers.
  • You take responsibility for the entire deployment process and the successful operation of the developed solutions.
  • Collaborate with the international architecture team, give the right impulses, and ensure the efficient implementation of the IT solution roadmap.
  • Deliver commitments within timelines and quality parameters.
  • Write clean, semantic, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Maintain a high bar for quality and performance of your product with vigorous attention to detail and automated testing.

Working Experience:

  • At least 5 years hands-on professional development experience with different technologies, specially related with modern Cloud solutions (AWS…) and Web technologies (React, Go…) with some Technical Leadership activities.
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform…) and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and DevOps are well known best practices for you.

Professional skills:

  • Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and software development best practices.
  • Expertise in building large scale web applications.
  • Awareness of software ownership, quality, maintainability and interoperability concepts.
  • Experience with modern technology stacks and have in-depth software engineering skills.
  • Experience in full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.

More than 18,000 employees and around 4.000 M€ revenue. They will hire the selected candidate as an internal and permanent employee, based in Madrid, but providing services to their global organization.

Job location: Madrid. European Union citizen otherwise valid job permit mandatory. At least one day per week remote work allowed, probably more than one.

Expected travel: The role will require occasional travel mainly to the company’s location in Germany for team meetings.

Education and Training:

  • BSc or Master in Computer Sciences or an equivalent education or work experience.
  • Any software-related certification or training are valued and should be mentioned.


• Spanish: Business fluent.

• English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills). B2/C1 level.

• German: Helpful for the position (but not a prerequisite).

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, as internal employee.
