Senior UI Designer (Madrid, Spain)

We are looking for a Senior UI Designer (m/f/d) to join our IT team in a permanent, full-time position, to foster our growth at our research and development site in the city centre of Madrid.

Key Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Closely collaborate with the UX team, product owners and business stakeholders to create modern design solutions based on user-centered ideation techniques.
  • Create layouts, prototypes, mockups and other design artefacts that describe how the interface looks & behaves and that inspire stakeholders for further discussion & co-creation.
  • Maintain and grow the design system of the company’s SaaS applications.
  • Ensure consistent look, feel and behaviour of the product; ensure product is perceived as integral part of the Jungheinrich product portfolio and brand.
  • Complement existing components in our toolset and further develop an integrated pattern library.
  • Support developers through the implementation process, provide feedback on the interface and ensure the quality of the interface and interactions.
  • Determine new rules for components on the fundamentals of atomic design principles.

 

Working Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of professional UI design experience, preferably as a Senior UI Designer

 Professional skills:

Mandatory skills:

  • Demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly software applications and customer-facing features in highly relevant B2B customer projects.
  • A passion for design excellence and perseverance to go the extra mile for optimal results in front of the customer, plus excellent customer experience intuition.
  • You bring very good communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Technical fluency, you possess ability to understand and discuss technical concepts and are able to read and understand CSS&HTML.
  • Deep experience with design and production tools like Sketch, InVision, Abstract, After Effects or Framer to mock up animations, Illustrator and Photoshop.

  

Personal skills:

  • You have very good communication skills.
  • You are an absolute team player.
  • You have a confident command of spoken and written English.
  • German language skills would be helpful.
  • Willing to travel regularly to Hamburg/Germany for alignment with local product teams and business stakeholders.

Education and Training:

  • University Degree/Bachelors’ Degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, New Media, HCI or an equivalent work experience.

Languages:

  • Spanish: Native language, otherwise business fluent.
  • English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills). B2/C1 level.
  • German: Valuable for the position, but not required at all.

The company: our customer (Jungheinrich) is a German multinational corporation that operates all over the world for more than 65 years and is one of the leading providers in the Logistics industry. More than 18,000 employees and around 4.000 M€ revenue. They will hire the selected candidate as an internal and permanent employee, based in Madrid, but providing services to their global organization.

Job location: Madrid. European nationality otherwise EU/Spain work permit required as a prerequisite.

Organizational position: Reporting to the Team Leader of Product and Portfolio (located in Hamburg).

Expected travel: Very limited, just a 2-3 days trip a few times per year, only during the weekdays, to the global headquarters in Hamburg (Germany) for teaming and alignment.

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, as internal employee.
